For Colored Girls

I have my dislikes - like how the movie kept bouncing so quickly between characters yoking you out the moment of being in the gutter and depths of a character's story to really feel it and let it sit with you..
but all in all
the poetry, the ACTING, ...
its was beautiful

"I think where ever possible in our society where we can use art to cathcart, to share experiences, to speak truth, to speak the things that we don't say because our lives are too busy or we don't want to offend, or were just too shy- to have pieces of work that are provocative that can create movements- I think is really exciting. So it is relative simply by virtue of the fact that pain hasn't changed. You know? How we deal with trauma will never change- we're human beings. Its funny I have spoken to some people that say 'isn't it terrible that 30 years later these issues haven't been resolved?' Well pain is never gonna be resolved. You can't Advil our entire human experience. Its how we deal with it from generation to generation and how we teach the next generation to speak their truth." - Thandie Newton
