Gag: Robert Lepage's 'La Damnation de Faust'
YESS.
The story of a man who one day wakes up and because he is so overwhelmed by the beauty in the world comes to the realization that he is old. The devil shows up and tries to tempt him promising him the wonders of the world, eternal youth and the young woman of his dreams. The story in short is ... Amazing and THIS SCENE:
when the young woman realizes she loves this old man, is tricked into killing her mother by the devil and her heart is "set on fire"... The sheer duality of fire being a dark thing considering the devil is a part of the story but it also be a symbol for her "burning" love...
UM
who knew the Opera was so ."dark" and AMAZING.
A friend says: "Not dark just profound, symbolic.... not sallow"
um.. everything i need
