NOM's Brian Brown Speaks At NY Sen. Ruben Diaz' Anti-Gay Hate Rally
The anti-gay rally sponsored by New York State Sen. Ruben Diaz was smaller than expected Sunday, with about 2,500 people – far fewer than the estimated 29,000 that showed up at his anti-equality marriage in 2009. The 2011 anti-equality rally. There were only about 60 pro-equality supporters – but that’s not a big surprise, because Diaz scheduled the event for the same day as the AIDS walk – where there were, oh, 45 THOUSAND walkers. However, one of the pro-equality supporters was Diaz’ grandaughter Erica – who herself is a lesbian (unfortunately, she went up on the state at the end to hug her grandfather when he shouted that he doesn’t hate gay people.) Diaz has two gay brothers, as well.
