CNN Race + Rage doccumentary: Rodney King beating and riots

Discrimination and intolerance is a sad and disgusting part of our American culture and history that must not be forgotten nor taken lightly. A culture rooted in an American social system of patriarchy and white supremacy that too many people have fallen under the impression that we live in the "future" is a problem. "Post Race". Then incidences such as Trayvon Martin happen and again the rude awakening of prejudice takes front stage again. This is something that we as a country have and probably will always have to deal with. However it is the day to day battles and standing up against hatred that moves us forward. Not tolerating any form of hatred be it racism, homophobia or misogyny is the only way forward - don't stand for it. The small changes go a long way and it starts with you. Not to sound cheesy but it's true because it's the unspoken issues and muted events that continue and grow beyond our means. Like what IF the Rodney King event never did get caught on tape?.... #imjussayin
